After a long gap, hotel management students back in action

Hotel Management Student

Nagpur: After almost two years of colleges operating in hybrid mode and those like hotel management institutes, where hands-on and practical learning is more important, things are coming back to normal. A cooking competition for students of hotel management institutes was organized at Government Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (GIHMCT) on Wednesday.

This was part of a national level competition where winners from 10 cities will compete for the final crown on April 26 at Pune. The winning team (comprising students) will get to work in hotels abroad.
Aarti Meshram, principal of GIHMCT said “These students had their task cut out, to make unique dishes out of the ingredients available. The year 2022-23 has been declared as the International Year of Millets, so students had to use this grain in their menu.”

Students were judged on the taste, use of ingredients and plate presentation. The jury comprised of chef Sandeep along with Aditya Naniwadekar and Aditya Sapkal.

First prize winners Yash Pusadkar and Nitesh Sonkamble will now proceed for the grand finale in Pune.
