Assistant Hotel Manager – Full Time

TFE Hotels, owners and operators of Adina Apartment Hotels, Medina Serviced Apartments, Rendezvous Hotels, Vibe Hotels, Adina Apartment Hotels and Travelodge Hotels are seeking an experienced hospitality professional to join the Travelodge Southbank team.

An exciting opportunity has become available for an Assistant Hotel Manager to join & oversee all operations of the hotel, reporting directly to the Hotel Manager.

As Assistant Hotel Manager, you will be responsible for:

• The day to day running of the Hotel in the absence of the Hotel Manager.
• Manage team members in all aspects of the daily operation
• Overseeing all operating departments including Front office, Food and Beverage, Conferencing, Maintenance and Housekeeping teams.
• Setting industry benchmarks for guest service and satisfaction
• Train & monitor team members to ensure we are upholding guest service at all times
• Recruitment of new team members as well as induction from day 1
• End of month accounting procedures & reporting
• Work with the Hotel Manager on yearly budgets & capital expenditure
• Complete performance appraisals for all team members in front office & ensure completion of other departments from department heads
• Conduct any disciplinary action or counselling required in conjunction with the hotel manager following TFE procedures
• Encourage a positive working environment
• Handle any guest complaints
• Thinking outside the box to increase revenue, ensuring yielding is looked at daily
• Building strong relationships with guests, team, suppliers & the community

The ideal applicant will possess the following attributes:

• A minimum of 2 years’ experience in Hotel (Accommodation) Management
• Exceptional customer service skills
• Effective time management & organisational skills
• Demonstrated leadership skills
• Ability to lead by example & foster a positive team culture
• To be a hands on manager
• Well developed problem solving skills
• A proven record of achievement in a similar Management role
• Proven skills in Rooms Division, Food and Beverage and Revenue Management
